Sümer Secondary School

Our school is located within the campus system which is implemented for the first time in Kayseri and in Turkey. There are eight associations in our campus, called ‘Sümer Kampüsü’. Our school has 1800 pupils and 120 teachers. Our pupils ages are between 10 and 15. It is the biggest school in Kayseri by means of it steacher and pupil population. There are two buildings belonging to the association. Sümer Elementary School Block A building was built as a housing for the workers who worked in the Cloth Factory and till 1957 it was used for this purpose. Because of the increasing population of the workers who lived in Yeni Mahalle, Göçmen Mahallesi, Gazi Osman Paşa Mahallesiand Yeşi lMahalle, on 10th May in 1957 Sümer Elementary School Block A building was hired for the Ministry of National Education for 30 years to meet the secondary school requirement of the children of the workers and the civil servants who settled down in the area. As a result of subsequent studies in addition to Block A ,which was donated to the Ministry of National Education, Block B was built in the 1999-2000 academic year and the number of school classrooms and pupils wasi ncreased. In the 2012-2013 academic year it was turned into a secondary school . In our school, there are 33 classrooms and 1700 pupils are educated in the dual education system (in the morning and in the afternoon).
